Catching up...Whitney is 8 months!

WOW!!! I am kind of behind on the blog! I have about 2 books to review too. It has been a busy and peaceful past month. 3 Fridays or so ago we enjoyed a special day at the beach house our friends The Miller's own. They steamed us crabs and taught us all about it. The kids were in heaven! Tim was out of town twice this month (Savannah and MI). Bootcamp is well. Although sometimes I will have one packed week and then one slow one. I try not to stress about this :) But I MUST write about this morning. It was mile repeat day and with Jess out of town and Mer not doing Tuesdays it was just  Sabrina, Liz and I. Sabrina has been a BLGF member since I started back up in October. I love her! She is Mrs. Consistent...total teacher's pet, we call her. Always on time! Always. Well today she just happened to be 5 minutes late. No biggie. So we ran our first mile, and Liz and I were cooling off and waiting for Sabrina to finish a few moments behind us. I started walking the cul-d-sac, but saw that Liz was still on the main road, so I jogged up to join her. Across the street I saw this yellow sparkling in front of the window of one of the homes. I said to Liz that it looked like a a fire...or wait, was it some sort of Christmas lights? Liz said it was a pit fire, and then we both realized that they would not have a random pit fire where it was, and then the fire shot up even bigger. I ran up to the house and Sabrina met me there. Liz is Queen of instincts, and she stayed in the road so as not to frighten the homeowners with a gang of people at their front door at 6 in the morning. I was trying to dial "0" from my phone, but it wouldn't pick up signal. Sabrina got the job done by pounding on their door (my door bell ringing and baby knocking was not getting them). They came to the door (gun in hand), and once we explained to them they were running to get the hose. They put the fire out and we saw the guy watering the yard for the rest of the workout. Sabrina suggested that we run the next mile to get out heart rates down. For Real!!! Anywhoo, the wife thanked us over and over and told us it was a light that had gone out and lit the leaves on fire. LATER that morning Sabrina went over to check on them and it turns out she went to Kindergarten-High School with the husband! No Way!!! Such a small world. I am so thankful that we were 5 minutes late and that we had mile repeats today (we only do those about twice a month). Otherwise we would totally have run by their house and yuck...let's not even think about that! Such an exciting morning! Liz (almost) hit two possums on the way to group...so if anyone needs a rest it is her! Haha
Homeschool has been going good as well. I am really trying to crank out the History lessons. Lily is flying through math and I hope to be done in 6-7 weeks. AHHHH! Still praying and considering our million options for next year. That, to me, is usually the most stressful part concerning each year.
ALSO...Kristen had BABY ANSLEY LAYNE HUNTER about 3+ weeks ago. I am totally in love and I cannot wait to hold and kiss her and my other girls at the end of May...or beginning of June. So sad that we are apart. But we still talk all of the time...well, maybe not as much with her being in a newborn phase.
Whitney is a bundle of joy. She laughs, grunts when she is happy and LOVES to play with her siblings. She will quietly lay there while Owen is in her face playing all of these adventure games loud and fast! Hilarious. I love these baby phases.

Here is Cole about to cook a crab. So sad:(

Beautiful Kristy holding Whitney. Kristy is a fairly new friend to me, but one of those people in life that you KNOW you are going to be friends with the first time you meet them. We could talk for hours and hours...love her!!!
Ok, this picture is a metaphor for mothering. I made this hat for Owen about 2 years ago, and he really had no interest in wearing it at the time, so it sat in his closet forever. Then one day out of the blue he finds it and decides that he wants to sleep with it. YES! I LOVE IT!
Soccer games have been a big part of every Saturday. Cole and Lily in the morning, Owen in the afternoon...and then sometimes a trip to Fuzions after :)
                                                                   Angel Girl Girl...

Ok, Cole is about to outgrow my grand-animals, so I had to take a picture. Left to right we have:
Frog, Mars, Monkey, Ollie, Connor, George(My Favorite...the Monkey), and then some accessories. He has all of these plus blankets and pillows in his bunk. Sometimes I literally can't find him.
But WAIT! What's that??? It looks like Mars...That's because it is his tail. Mars's tail fell off a few years ago and Cole carries it with him wherever Mars goes. I still find this half-sick, half- funny! That is also a white hat I crocheted for George:)
Ok...Let me just say that if every FSU Football game had weather like the Garnet & Gold game did on Saturday...I would probably be a lot better fan! It was AMAZING. All of the Jasmine was blooming on the wall of the Dick Houser Baseball stadium as we walked up. Warm sun and cool breeze. We went to cheer on Ross. Earlier that week Tim told me that Ross was going to be playing football with the other FSU Alum during half time. I asked Tim if he thought that was dangerous...Tim replied that getting out of bed can be dangerous (these days I agree)! I was more than mildly concerned about Ross all week...his back, his knees...it has been a while since he suited up! THEN I heard Tim tell Cole that Ross was playing in a FLAG FOOTBALL game. I started laughing out loud! Oh...ok, that makes more sense! Go Alum!
                                                            Whitney's first FSU game:
"Go Senimals" (One of them still messes it up...but I'm not allowed to say):

HOW AWESOME IS THIS! These are the real glitter people. Cole and Owen wouldn't get near them. When we walked away Owen said, "Mommy...I know they are human."

Go Ross! Go zoom on my Cannon!

As you can see 'Fashion Crisis' is still in effect. Owen doing one of his jobs in recycling... Recycle that shirt already:)
Love to you all! A very happy, Jenn Batey

  1. Correction: I ALMOST killed 2 possums on the way to group! Although when my brakes screeched, I'm surprised neither one of them played dead from fright. Thank you anti-lock brakes!! They are fine. Why they want to play in the middle of the road is beyond me...
