BLONDE MOMENT
Ok, so I have to get this down before too much longer. Whenever I say something really stupid Tim and I always follow it up by commenting in a really high pitched girlish voice, "HI! I Homeschool." Like on Saturday, for instance, I asked Cale which of the two 'horses' in front of me was a Marshtackie...She looked at me confused and we kept this up until finally she said, "Jenn, honey...those are COWS! The Marshtackie is the horse behind them!" In my defense I had waken up at 5:45 that morning with a cough and ran 11 miles in the coldest wind yet! Tough morning. All day I had dehydration brain. So that type of thing is only semi-worthy of a "Hi! I Homeschool" comment.
HOWEVER...the following is prime example. I like to say that my problem is that I don't drink enough (alcohol). I am averaging about 2 alcoholic drinks a year. So, it takes about 2 Tablespoons of alcohol before I feel it. One of the 2 yearly drinks is at Tim's office party when I get my one White Russian. Problem is I get all fuzzy on people's names later :) Not only is it yummy and festive, it just takes the edge of of environments like that...HAHAHA...read on...
So, I had Tim take the drink back and dump out some of the Russian and add some more of the White...so I really don't even have a legitimate excuse for what I said. We were sitting around the dinner table with all of Tim's co-workers. Men, and their wives who respect Tim for the years of service and wisdom he displays...Bless Him! One of the women were sharing about how she had to nurse back her husband from a tear to his Achilles tendon that occurred the previous year. It was a brutal recovery. Well, I turned to Tim and said (unintentionally loud enough for all to hear) "Oh! We studied that in Greek Mythology, the Achillies Tendon...who was that named after??? (pause, pause, pause)...Hmmm., Oh Hercules!"
You should have seen Tim's FACE! LOL!!! He was like "Shut UP" in the eyes...and I have never even heard him say Shut Up! Roar! Oh Well, blame it on the Russian.

I also had a blast with Kristen and the kids. It started on Thursday night when I enjoyed a COMPLETELY CLEAN house and everyone was in bed and I got to stay up late and watch back to back episodes of Golden Girls...BEST SHOW EVER!!!! (Shout out to Pat M!) Then they got here and we went to bed...1am! Ahhhh. Friday afternoon we played JUST DANCE KIDS on the Wii for an hour and a half...all of us. Kristen, Cole and I made Justin Bieber jokes (in regards to his memoir...ahhh, he is 14...anyone? anyone?) Laughed until we cried! I made din din for the boys and kids and Kristen and I had the best GNO at Red Elephant for a Baby shower. SOOOOO FUN to see all of the girls. Cindee, Meredith and Wendy came over for an impromptu after party. So sorry I fell asleep on the couch, but I LOVE YOU WEN! My little night Owl! Then Saturday I put in my 7 miles with Gina and Sabrina...ok, no more slacking this week on my shorter runs...can anyone say Amen? Then we chilled, had a good talk with JP and Kris, and it was off to Kendhal's Park Lane Party. Tim got me my guilty pleasure at the library? Was it some sexy romance novel? Ewwww, No! That's trash...but it was: DIARY OF A WIMPY KID! Oh Man! I am sooo bad. I sit there laughing out loud at the book, but won't let the kids read them all (some of them). Greg is such a little manipulator and the world's worst friend, but I LOVE HIM! Those books are their own form of trash for the character, but I totally laugh until I cry! I am on my 3rd! Somebody HELP ME!
Speaking of which...am I the only Dilbert fan out there? I LOVE THAT COMIC! Like I have a Dilbert APP love...but after this weekend I am beginning to think that not everyone finds him as funny as me. Pure Comedy!
Ok, so today we had the marathon, and then the Hunter's left. Grrrrrrr. Break my heart. Owen told me he might cry...but he hung strong.
Ok, back to it tomorrow. I broke down and ate 2 Fig Newton's today. Sugar Free Again and moving forward. Curse those Delicious cookies :) Here are some pics:
This is how Owen eats an Apple...nothing but a stem left:

Catching Up from the Holidays...
Homeschooling is good. We are reading this new book I LOVE: The Land Remembered...I am reading the adult copy to my kids. What a wonderful book that is. We are all enjoying the adventure!
Tim has his marathon this Sunday and Kristen and JP are on their way here today (JP is doing the half). Sooo fun! I know...WHAT AM I DOING SITTING DOWN??? This is how I escape life when I have too many things to do :)
Some things I have been meaning to jot down that I love:
1) When I sit down to eat and Owen scoots his chair right next to mine.
2) How Owen says :"I LOVE you as big as the road is and the road never ends"
3) Whitney's cute tongue and smiles
4) Lily's home made wrapping paper
5) Cole insisting on buying each sibling a Christmas present :)
